Two girls drown in a pond at Mauja village of Chandauli district
Uttar Pradesh: Two girls drowned in a pond in Mauja village of the district, police said today.

Six girls aged between 10 and 12 years were taking bath in the village pond yesterday while three slipped into deep water.
While two girls identified as Preeti and Priyanka drowned, Arti was rescued by locals and rushed to a nearby government hospital, where her condition was stated to be critical, police said. The bodies of the victims were later fished out by locals.
