Only if you're a voracious eater should you try the Choco Fondue at H agen-Dazs because no single tummy can have room for so many scoops at one go
Only if you're a voracious eater should you try the Choco Fondue at Haagen-Dazs because no single tummy can have room for so many scoops at one go
When Haagen-Dazs opened its first counter in the country at a South Delhi mall, it garnered heavy attention, not because of its rich flavours of ice cream and heavy pricing but because of its infamous promotional tag line, "Access restricted only to holders of international passports."
Now that the controversy has died and the outlet is making moolah, we visited the store for scoops, not the ones associated with journalism but the ones that will remain perfect meal enders.u00a0
Real taste of ice
The counter stocks 22 varieties of ice creams at one go, all imported from France. In every scoop you get real flavours, for instance in strawberry flavours, you'll find chunks of fresh strawberries. Same is the case with the tropical Haagen-Dazs Mango, which is a perfect blend of ingredients. If you want to try something tangy, go in for lemon sorbet that's juicy and tangy. Other exotic flavours are apricot, macadamia nut and dulce de leche. Give green tea a miss because it actually tastes like the regular one.u00a0
Not for everyone
Haagen Dazs is like the Rolls Royce of ice-cream, because not every pocket, has the depth to afford it. A scoop costs more than Rs 150, which could give many diners fever. But once you get a feel of the succulent taste, you would cut down on other bills and come back for more because quality comes at a price. Even in the closed walls of a massive mall, the outlet has a parlour like feel. But yes its more cosmo in nature. A must visit for people who have grown tired of sub-standard frozen desserts touted as 'ice-cream'.
