A mute woman was killed and her chopped body parts were dumped near railway tracks in three different districts in Bihar, police said yesterday. Soni Devi, in her mid-20s, is suspected to have been killed by her husband Sanjay Singh and his parents. The suspects are absconding.
“Soni was first killed, her body was chopped and her body parts were dumped in three districts,” said investigating officer Manoj Kumar. Her body parts were recovered over the past four days.
Police said that Soni’s legs were found near railway tracks in Darbhanga district and her hands were found near tracks in Samastipur district. Her remaining body was found near railway tracks in Begusarai. Soni’s father Narendra Singh alleged that her daughter was killed in a gruesome manner by her husband and in-laws for dowry.
