A 30-year-old woman has sold her newborn son to a family for Rs 50,000 in this district of Andhra Pradesh, media reports said on Wednesday.
The woman, said to be a widow, gave birth to the child on Tuesday at Mallial Mandal, nearly 40 km from here. Expressing inability to raise the infant, she put the baby boy for sale, the reports said. The woman already has two sons.
A villager and his wife, who are childless, came forward and bought the infant for Rs 50,000, the reports added.
