A woman who allegedly killed her four-year-old daughter in a fit of rage in Raghuji Nagar here yesterday, committed suicide by jumping before a running train, police said today.
The woman, Sheela Bake (35), allegedly attacked her daughter Vaishali with a sharp weapon, inflicting injuries on the latter's neck and chest, resulting in her death, police said.u00a0
Later, the woman fled from her home and boarded a train. She got down at Wardha and jumped before a running train yesterday.
The Government Railway Police at Wardha sent her photo by email to Nagpur police, which confirmed her identity.
The woman was suspected to be mentally unsound and had frequent quarrels with her husband, police added.
