Police suspect fallout between 2 groupsu00a0

A 22-year-old youth was stabbed by unidentified men at 11 pm yesterday at Pimpri, near Ashok Chitra Mandir. Doctors at the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital said the condition of the youth was serious and he needed to be operated upon.

The victim has been identified as Manoj Shahaji Ingle from Rahatni. He was brought to the hospital by one of his friend Sanjay Yadav at 11.55 pm.

Deepak Pakhale, a doctor at YCM, said, "He has serious injuries on his spinal cord just below the neck and below his left shoulder. They have been inflicted by sharp objects, and Ingle needs to be operated."

Mob gathers
Meanwhile, a mob gathered at the hospital after Ingle was admitted which prompted the police to increase security around the hospital premises.

Constable Mehboob Shaikh, YCM police chowky, said, "It looks like a fallout between two groups, but the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained."
