Devotees thronged temples across Bihar on the occasion of Ram Navami, offering prayers and celebrating the festival with religious fervour.

BJP president Nitin Nabin offered prayers at several temples in state capital Patna, including the famed Mahavir temple.


Speaking to reporters, he extended greetings to people across the country and said the values embodied in Lord Ram's life should guide everyone.



Recalling his association with the Mahavir temple, Nabin said he has been visiting the shrine since childhood and described it as a major centre of faith.

He also paid tribute to his teacher, the late Acharya Kishore Kunal, for his role in developing the shrine.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also extended greetings to the people on the occasion.

He said Lord Ram's life symbolises love for humanity, harmony, tolerance, sacrifice and righteousness, and wished people a joyful and peaceful celebration.
