In a shocking incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Anuppur district, a group of unidentified persons allegedly threatened to kill a judge. The accused also damaged the property and pelted stones at the judge's residence in Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur district.
As reported by news agency PTI, the incident occurred around 12.30 am on Saturday at Bhalumada, located 35 km from the district headquarters, as informed by Superintendent of Police Moti-ur Rehman.
The official, while emphasising this unfortunate incident, further said that “Judicial Magistrate First Class Amandeep Singh Chhabra filed a complaint at the Bhalumada police station stating that he and his family were asleep at his official residence when a group of persons hurled abuses and threatened to kill him,” as cited by news agency PTI.
While filing the complaint, the judge also emphasised that the group of men further damaged the property, including a lamp at the gate and iron fixtures, and even pelted stones into the courtyard. He further stated that as soon as he came out of the house, the attackers fled from the spot.
A police official responding to the complaint filed by the judge said, “A case has been registered against the unidentified attackers under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 224 (threat of injury to public servant), 296 (obscene acts and songs), 324 (mischief), 331(6) (which concerns house trespass or house-breaking), 333 (house trespass with preparation for hurt) and 351(3) (threats of death, grievous hurt, or destruction of property by fire),” as per PTI.
The officials further said that an investigation has been launched and they will also examine whether the attack was linked to any recent order in which the magistrate had rejected a bail application.
Cops in Bhopal beat up a 22-year-old student to death
Earlier last week, in a horrific sequence of scenarios, two police officials were arrested for allegedly being involved in the murder of a 22-year-old BTech student in Madhya Pradesh’s capital, Bhopal.
As per PTI, police constables Santosh Bamaniya and Saurabh Arya were charged with murder on Saturday after the postmortem report suggested that a student died due to pancreatic haemorrhage caused by trauma.
Reportedly, a viral video on social media purportedly shows a policeman holding the victim, Udit Gaayke, while another hits him with a stick. The brutal assault by the police officials on the student was largely condemned by the people online, which forced the officials to take action against the two accused.
The postmortem report of the 22-year-old student prompted the authorities to arrest two police officers involved in a brutal assault, an official said.
