Amid the concerning situation across the country related to the blast, an unattended bag was spotted on a road in Maharashtra's Nashik city on Sunday morning. The unattended bag created panic amid the locals, but police later confirmed that it contained nothing suspicious.
As reported by news agency PTI, the police received a call that a suspicious object was lying near the Indiranagar underpass, adjacent to the Mumbai-Agra national highway, in the morning, an official said.
After being alerted about the unattended bag, the police rushed to the spot and evacuated the area. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) team, a dog squad and personnel from other agencies also reached the spot.
An official from Ambad police station, while asserting about the case, said, "We received a call that something suspicious was lying near the Indira Nagar underpass. On verification of the object, nothing suspicious was found. A birthday gift box was found. There is no need to panic. We request people not to spread any rumours," as cited by news agency PTI.
Earlier on November 11, a car blast claimed 13 lives and injured several others, even as investigators have said more attacks were planned in four cities across the country by an interstate 'white-collar terror' module.
Three cartridges recovered; agencies trace links to Al Falah University in Delhi blast case
The investigation into the Delhi Red Fort blast on Sunday has now taken a significant turn after forensic teams recovered three cartridges. Out of the three cartridges, two were live, and one was found to be empty. As per the sources, the cartridges were of 9mm calibre from the scene, as cited by news agency IANS.
Moreover, the sources further said that the ammunition is of a calibre prohibited for civilian possession, raising concerns about the source of the cartridges and the nature of the incident.
Furthermore, the officers also clarified that, “No pistol or any firearm component was found at the blast site, making the recovery even more puzzling for investigators.”
Officials further asserted that “the discovery of the cartridges is being treated as a crucial clue, but the absence of a corresponding weapon has opened multiple investigative angles,” as cited by IANS.
