The Shiv Sena celebrated after the Centre reinstated the ruleof two qualifying papers in regional languages for the UPSC exams yesterday.
It also said that if the Centre wanted to modify the examination pattern, it should consult the state beingaffected.
The Sena had raised an uproar against the new exam pattern introduced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in which candidates would no longer have to qualify other language papers such as Hindi or other regional languages such as Marathi.
As per the new decision, the English essay paper of 100 marks has been cancelled and the earlier practice of two qualifying papers in any Indian language and English has been re-established. u00a0
