Hours after the US-Israel attack on Iran, Air India on Saturday suspended all flights to destinations across the Middle East due to the worsening security situation in the region, the IANS reported.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the airline said the decision was taken in view of the developing situation in parts of the Middle East. The announcement followed reports that the United States and Israel had begun major combat operations in Iran.
Air India said that the safety of its passengers and crew remains its top priority. The airline added that it would continue to closely monitor the security environment and adjust operations as necessary.
The carrier assured customers that its teams are providing support to affected passengers.
Travellers have been advised to check their flight status online or contact the airline’s 24-hour call centre for updates.

Air India express also suspends flights
Air India Express has also suspended all westbound international flights in light of the situation in the Gulf region.
A spokesperson for the airline said that safety remains the highest priority and that the company is monitoring developments closely. Impacted passengers are being informed directly through their registered contact details, according to the IANS.
The airline advised travellers to check flight updates on its website and ensure their contact information is current. Passengers seeking changes or cancellations can use the “Manage Booking” section online.
