Rajouri Attack: Security and para forces intensify operations after jawans lost lives in J&K

In a major jolt to 9 Para SF unit, the Indian Army lost five of its elite commandos during anti-terror operation on May 05. The jawans were killed by IED explosion planted by the terrorists in the mountainous region in Rajouri. Now, the ‘Mountain Rats’ have intensified their operations to avenge the death of the fallen warriors. As per latest report, one terrorist was gunned down by security forces in an encounter in Rajouri district of J&K on May 06. A massive cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the possession of the slain terrorist. The recovered materials included one AK56, four magazines of AK, 56 rounds of AK, a 1x9mm Pistol with Magazine, three grenades. To boost morale of the soldiers, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reached Rajouri to take stock of the situation. He was accompanied by Chief of Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande and Northern Command GOC-in_C Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi. The Security Forces have beefed up security across in view of G 20 meeting which is scheduled to take place on May 22-23. Patrolling and checking has been increased across the Union Territory to prevent any possible untoward incident during G20 meet. The NSG and Marine commandos will be deployed to provide security in the valley during the G20 event.
