As per a resolution passed in Maharashtra`s state assembly on Tuesday, Karnataka`s government is being accused of oppressing and unfairly treating the Marathi population in border states. This comes just days after the Karnataka assembly passed a resolution reiterating its determination not to cede any land from its borders and condemning Maharashtra`s attempts to stir passion on an issue which is now a "completed chapter”.The resolution said: “Maharashtra condemns Karnataka government’s anti-Marathi stance and how the Marathi population living in border areas have been receiving secondary treatment for years, they have been oppressed and treated unfairly.” It aimed at bringing back 865 Marathi-speaking villages in Karnataka, to Maharashtra.
