Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, spoke about how various groups, like Dalits, are given representation in India’s power structure but are not truly included in decision-making. He explained that simply having people from different castes on stage doesn’t matter if they don`t have a say in the decisions being made behind the scenes. He pointed out that while Prime Minister Modi often talks about giving tickets to people from different communities, he has taken away the real power from elected representatives like MLAs and MPs. Even ministers are controlled by outside forces, such as the RSS, and don’t have real decision-making power. The issue, according to Gandhi, is about control and real participation in governance.
