Minister for External Affairs, S Jaishankar, addressed the general debate of the 77th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. In his address, he explained the 5 pledges that India has decided to undertake. Union Miniter also hits out at China for not blacklisting terrorists, “The United Nations responds to terrorism by sanctioning its perpetrators. Those who politicize the UNSC 1267 Sanctions regime, sometimes to the extent of defending proclaimed terrorists, do so at their own peril.” Taking a jibe at Pakistan, Dr S Jaishankar said that India advocates ‘zero-tolerance’ approach and that no rhetoric, however sanctimonious, can cover-up bloodstains. “Having borne brunt of cross-border terrorism for decades, India advocates ‘zero-tolerance’ approach.
