In the mind of a tsunami victim

Dear life,
There are times when loneliness creeps into your mind and soul and makes you numb. There are times when you feel that the world has come to a standstill. There are times when you feel that the rest of the world is rushing away from you, and you are left behind in a maze, with nothing to look forward to.

You cry, you go blue, you go into a bout of depression. But life moves on at its own pace, taking you along with it, it's almost like a whirlwind, taking care of you. Just like that giant wave did to people around me.
I watched them flee, I watched them struggle and then succumb, I watched them die...

There are times when you want to laugh out loud. There are times when you want to dance, and make the world around you dance along with you, not to your tune, but to the melody of joy. There are times when you want to sing out loud, no matter whether you have a dulcet voice.

There are times when you feel like saying 'I love you my life, you are the one and only gift.' That is what I felt when I beat that wave, finally....I watched my house drown, I watched the swirling water take away all my material possessions. But I am no Material Girl.....

There are times when you want to shout, you want to scream, you want to swear. There are times when the animal inside yearns to come out, struggles to break free from the shackles of the word called 'civilised.' It tries, tries harder, and then says 'here I am.' And then you repent, regret after the damage is done.

I want to scream, I want to yell at the top of my voice, I want to feel likeu00a0 I'm alive. This world around seems dead. The people around me are dead. But I am alive. Thank you once again dear life.
