Shiv Aroor tweeted: 'If we're not careful, this government might try slipping Afzal Guru a Padma Bhushan.' In Panchajanya's words: 'Guess who the safest people in India now are... Afzal Guru and Qasab.' T R Sriniwas asked, 'Are we going to hang Guru for his heinous crimes or use him as political ping pong ball?' There was this comment from a certain Raghunath: 'Guru deserves credit for exposing Indian Parliamentarians as weak, confused and partisan. 100 percent proved, as he is still alive and secure.' The falling of the rupee to a record low of Rs 53.29 per US dollar was a topic of much debate for a while. Gautam Trivedi tweeted: 'Inflation is bringing us true democracy. Now, luxuries and necessities are selling at the same price.' Subir Ghosh added: 'Attention, all those who owe me money: For the next few months, I will want to be paid in dollars only. Thank you.' And MTV India had this suggestion: 'Rs 53.29 should be a politician's monthly salary. After all, the rupee is as weak as their promises.'
