The lawyer defending 17-year-old Julius Hart presented photographs of the Prince and the footballer with their briefs exposed to argue that the fashion has gone mainstream
Au00a0teenager in Florida arrested for exposing his underwear through saggy trousers, has pleaded not guilty, citing Prince Harry and David Beckham as role models who follow the style.
Towns and cities across America have passed bans on saggy trousers but there have rarely been prosecutions. The fashion of flashing the underwear was rooted in the US prisons policy of making prisoners wear oversized clothes to restrict movement and removing their belts so they could not be used as weapons, the Telegraph reported.
The lawyer defending 17-year-old Julius Hart presented photographs of the Prince and the footballer with their briefs exposed to argue that the fashion has gone mainstream. "I just want it to be over with so everybody can have their own little way of dressing, that's all," said Hart who was jailed for a night for the offence.
Daniel Cohen, Hart's lawyer, said that the right to dress freely was a form of personal liberty, while the prosecutor said that the law was a step to improve the town's image.
