Odds back William & Kate returning to where they got engaged; Harry favourite to be best man

Bookies in England are having a field day placing bets on anything and everything to do with the upcoming royal wedding.

Prince William and Kate Middleton will marry on April 29 in Westminster Abbey, the historic London church where Princess Diana's funeral was held.

William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and her mother both married at the abbey, where British kings and queens are crowned and where 17 monarchs are buried.

Speculation is already rife about where the couple will go for their honeymoon.

The odds of the couple honeymooning in Kenya where Prince William proposed are 5/1, while Prince Harry is 1/100 to be best man at the wedding.

Middleton is 3/1 to wear a dress by her favourite designer Daniella Issa Helayel.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said, "It's going to be the biggest event of the year and the betting public have already gone into Royal meltdown.

"We think William will follow the Queen to the Abbey in what is certain to be a blockbuster day in the 2011 calendar."

Bookies pay out

Bookies have already had to pay out thousands of pounds to punters who correctly predicted the wedding would take place in April.

Bookmaker William Hill said the newly revealed date cost the firm ufffd34,672 (Rs 25 lakh) on a flurry of bets after the engagement was announced last week.

The firm is giving odds for other aspects of the wedding including 2-1 that the couple will have a child within the first year of the marriage.

Other bets being taken by Hills include Kate using the word "obey" in her wedding vows (8/11), that she will wear a Phillipa Lepley dress (9/4) and that chart act Take That will sing at the reception (4/1).
