Four people, including a TV channel cameraman, were killed and several injured on Friday when a powerful explosion tore through a hospital in Pakistan's Quetta city.

Four people, including a TV channel cameraman, were killed and several injured on Friday when a powerful explosion tore through a hospital in Pakistan's Quetta city.

Arshad Zaidi, a bank official, was shot at near Mannan Chowk and he was brought to Civil Hospital at Jinnah Road. He succumbed to the gunshot wounds.


The blast took place when a large number of people gathered at the hospital after learning about Zaidi's killing, Geo TV reported.



The deafening explosion damaged the emergency department and nearby buildings.

Two policemen, two correspondents and cameraman Malik Arif sustained injuries and Arif later died. Geo News correspondent Salman Ashraf was also injured.

Firing also took place after the blast.
