Eat this

Burger Me! This Hamburger Bed looks good enough to eat. Wacky American Kayla Kromer decided she loved the fast food so much she wanted to become the filling. So when she moved into her first house in Austin, Texas, she thought it was the ideal time to create a comfy homage to her favourite snack. Kayla, a 26-year-old first grade teacher, says: "You know that ol' dinner party question: If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? My answer is always hamburgers!" In fact she loves burgers so much that she once went on a road trip and ate them in EIGHT US states. The 8ft diameter bed features a bun top duvet, lettuce as sheets, memory foam cheese and is described by Kayla as "the most comfortable bed I have ever owned".

Psycho doughnuts
A 'crazy' themed doughnut shop complete with female staff in asylum-style nurse outfits and straitjackets for customers has sparked controversy in the US. Other doughnuts include the 'manic malt', 'massive head trauma' u2014 which has red jelly oozing out of it u2014 and house specialty the 'psycho'. The store's website claims: "Psycho Donuts has taken donuts to the next demented level." Co-owner Jordan Zweigoron claims his business model is simply to reinvent the doughnut in an "edgy" shop. He said: "These are really crazy doughnuts." Oscar Wright, chief executive of the United Advocates for Children and Families, a group that supports families of children who need mental health services, said: "When I saw the doughnuts, it was a total shock. The 'massive head trauma' u2014 to have a doughnut with a white glazed face and jelly oozing out the side of its head, it was incomprehensible." And Joel Gurin, president of the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression, has called for Psycho Donuts to change its theme.

Gold beer mug
There's nothing quite like a cool glass of beer after a hard day's work but would the pint really taste better if it came out of a USD 50,000 mug? That's the claim being made by a Japanese jewellery company with regard to its new solid gold beer tankard. Forget necklaces and earrings, Ginza Tanaka jewellery hopes that the 850g, 13.5cm tall mug will attract customers looking for the ultimate drinking experience. However, be warned, due to the fluctuating price of gold the tankard can change price from day-to-day u2014 the USD 50,000 is merely a guide price. And if beer isn't your golden cup of tea, the company also offers solid gold saki and wine glasses too.

Sexy ice-cream

This ice cream cocktail contains herbal Viagras ginkgo biloba and arginine and the stimulant guarana. It is also served with a shot of La Fee Absinthe to pour over the top. Creators of the green and white dessert claim it enhances blood flow and increases energy levels. The results are apparently so electric that customers are limited to just one serving per person. The u00a311.99 devilish desert will be on offer from subversive new ice cream brand The Icecreamists. They will be serving up the treat from a "God Save The Cream" parlour at London's Selfridges from September 10. Self-heating canned meal
Office workers can rustle up a hot snack at their desk without the need for an oven or microwave thanks to a self-heating can that warms its contents in minutes. The Hotcan meals which include beef casserole, vegetable curry and all day breakfast offer a warm lunchtime alternative to a sandwich or salad. The manufacture, a British company, is also developing a new range of pasta, curry and vegetarian dishes. The 14oz cans generate heat by mixing water and limestone when a seal on the top is broken. Food is heated through in no more than 12 minutes.
