Kiev: Anti-government insurgents attacked trucks carrying Ukrainian soldiers in eastern Donetsk region Tuesday, killing at least six men and injuring eight others, the defence ministry said.

A group of about 30 rebels ambushed the Ukrainian soldiers 20 km north of the embattled Kramatorsk town. Following the attack around 1 p.m., several vehicles of the Ukrainian army were torched, Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying.
All the injured servicemen were rushed to hospital with one of them in critical condition.
