The 18-year-old son of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) CEO Milind Mhaiskar was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a posh residential building in Malabar Hill on the morning of July 19. His body was found below the building over an hour later. The police have registered an accidental death report and have detained two of his friends in connection with the death. A young inmate of Thane Central Jail reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the toilet in the wee hours of July 30 - between 2.30 am and 2.45 am. The jail authorities said that he used his T-shirt to hang himself from the grill of the window and a preliminary inquiry, by speaking with other inmates in the jail, revealed that Baranwal was depressed over not getting bail. After putting up a Facebook post, holding four people responsible for his death, a young man committed suicide by jumping before a train between Borivali and Kandivali stations on the evening of July 26. Sexual assault by a group of boys in Powai pushed two minors over the edge, traumatising them to the extent that both committed suicide by consuming poison. The younger victim, a 10-year-old boy died first the second, 13-year-old boy died a few days later after being in a coma for a day.
