The incident took place in Film Nagar, where Sri Reddy removed her clothes and complained of not getting chances in the industry and women being exploited in Tollywood
Following the incidence, Banjarahills police reached the spot and urged the artist to file a formal complaint. Sri Reddy refused and continued her protest
Sri Reddy's antics had gathered a huge crowd following which she was asked to move from the spot
Assistant Commissioner of Police Banjarahills, KS Rao said following the incident, "After actress Sri Reddy stripped her clothes and protested, we reached the spot because of the nuisance that was created. We are going to take legal action against her"
Later, the controversial actress Sri Reddy was in news for alleging sexual exploitation in Tollywood and having controversial arguments on TV debates about "whores" and "brokers" in the film industry
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma said Sri Reddy has become a "national celebrity" after resorting to her strip protest in Hyderabad
Ram Gopal Varma tweeted the following regarding the controversial incident, "Sri Reddy has become a national celebrity... People in Mumbai, who don't even know Pawan Kalyan, are talking about Sri Reddy (sic)"
Sri Reddy had been posting on social media since the past few days that casting couch was rampant in Tollywood and threatened to name and shame those who were sexually exploiting aspiring actors
Sri Reddy alleged that many producers and directors demanded her nude photos and videos for a film role. She said they did not give her roles even after she obliged with the requests
Sri Reddy demanded that Telugu girls should be given roles in Tollywood films and claimed that filmmakers were sexually exploiting other actresses too
Sri Reddy said her protest was also against the Movie Artists Association (MAA) for denying her membership despite having acted in three films
Sri Reddy started her protest by stripping in front of cameramen of television channels
Sri Reddy was escorted away from the area by police personnel after refusing to call off the protest. A police officer told reporters that she could register a complaint but a naked protest was not allowed
Following her 'stripping' episode, Sri Reddy informed on her Facebook page that her landlord has asked her to vacate the house
"My owner called me and told to vacate my house,what a great people..he is working as an ias ..such a narrow minded people..U dnt even imagine how rude talking..Big people game started (sic)," wrote Sri Reddy on her social media page
Sri Reddy's act did not go down well with Movie Artists Association (MAA) and they have banned her for the brazen act. In fact, MAA has even threatened that they would suspend any member who worked with her
Sri Reddy questioned the MAA's decision of banning her and said that this film body offered her crores of rupees for settlement and not approach the media
After revealing in an interview with a major newspaper that a top producer's son forced her to maintain physical relation with him in a studio, Sri Reddy later revealed him to be Abhiram Daggubati, the son of producer Suresh Babu and brother of Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati. She made the revelation in an interiview to a prominent TV news channel. Sri also shared pictures of herself with Abhiram on her Twiter account
