LPG tanker Shivalik escapes Hormuz but Iran sets shocking condition for 22 more

India is negotiating with Iran to ensure safe passage for Indian-flagged and India-bound vessels through the Strait of Hormuz as tensions in the Gulf disrupt global shipping routes. According to sources, Tehran has asked New Delhi to release three tankers seized by Indian authorities earlier this year as part of a potential arrangement to allow safe transit for Indian vessels. India had detained the Iran-linked tankers in February, alleging that the ships had concealed their identities and were involved in illegal ship-to-ship transfers at sea.

Iran war crisis: Russia goes secretive on Indian oil flows as US grants waiver

The United States says it has issued a 30-day waiver allowing India to purchase Russian oil already at sea, aiming to stabilize global energy markets during escalating tensions in West Asia. At the same time, the Kremlin has refused to disclose how much crude it is exporting to India, citing security concerns and “too many ill wishers.” Russian officials say Moscow is ready to increase oil shipments to India and China as disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz threaten global supply routes.
