He urged everyone to avoid unnecessary travel due to water on roads and in homes in Pune. With Khadakwasla Dam and surrounding areas experiencing heavy rain, he assured readiness with NDRF, SDRF, and Army teams on standby. Due to heavy Mumbai rains, the city faces an 'orange' alert, and efforts include 222 water pumps to clear flooded areas. Railway tracks in Kurla and Ghatkopar are affected, and efforts are underway to reopen the Andheri subway. Shinde appealed for cooperation and vigilance from residents and officials alike.

Mumbai Rains: Mumbai battered by Rains on 25th July, Red Alert issued

On July 25, 2024, Mumbai rains turned out to be fatal and caused substantial disruptions and hazards throughout the city. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Mumbai and neighbouring regions, predicting extremely heavy rainfall. The non-stop rain led to widespread waterlogging in areas such as Kurla, Andheri, BKC, and Chembur. The heavy  rain significantly impacted transportation in Mumbai. Local train services are operating at reduced speeds due to poor visibility, and several trains were suspended. Flight operations at Mumbai airport are also heavily affected, with numerous flights delayed, diverted, or canceled.The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has recorded 46 incidents of fallen trees and branches, six short circuits, and eight cases of property damage.
