A major fire erupted on Thursday in multiple tin-roofed huts built for labourers in the Sheetal Nagar area of Mira Road, near Mumbai. The fire caused two to three gas cylinders to explode; however, no injuries have been reported. The huts had been temporarily set up on an open plot to house construction workers. Around noon, a short circuit in one of the huts sparked the fire. At the time, two to three labourers were present inside. The fire brigade arrived promptly and managed to bring the blaze under control.

14 March,2025 02:18 PM ISTIn a shocking incident, a car driver rammed his vehicle into the JP North Barcelona Building Society in Vinay Nagar, Mira Road, after being denied entry by security guards. The driver, along with two others in the car, also attempted to run over the society's watchman and attacked several guards. The incident occurred around 6:30 pm on Monday, when security guard Rakeshwar Singh stopped the car and asked for the flat number the occupants were visiting. According to Singh, the driver and his companions became aggressive, began ramming the car into the guards, and tried to hit them. The attackers were reportedly drunk. Around seven security guards and 2–3 other people were injured in the incident. Eyewitnesses, along with CCTV footage from the society, captured the entire attack. The Kashigaon police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and are using the car's number plate to trace the accused. The driver, however, managed to escape the scene after the attack. A police officer from the Kashigaon station confirmed the FIR and assured that efforts are underway to locate the driver.
