Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 04 unveiled the grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He reached Rajkot Fort in Sindhudurg district and unveiled the statue. PM will also attend the programme marking ‘Navy Day 2023’ celebrations at Sindhudurg. Prime Minster will also witness the ‘Operational Demonstrations’ by Indian Navy’s ships, submarines, aircraft and special forces from Tarkarli beach, Sindhudurg.

Commonly referred to as 26/11, these coordinated assaults by a group of 10 terrorists did mayhem on the streets of Mumbai and sent shockwaves through the nation and the world. Terrorists from the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group had entered the city of Mumbai on the night of November 26, 2008. Over the course of four days, they killed 166 people and injured 300.
Keli, the younger daughter of Punyapal and Aastha Punamiya, will accept diksha at a grand ceremony on December 1.A 13-year-old Jain girl from Dahanu represents the fourth generation in her family to accept diksha or monkhood. mid-day spends an afternoon with the Punamiyas and comes away feeling enlightened. Keli's grandfather, Dr Prakash Punamiya, recalls how his father started the tradition by accepting diksha at the age of 52, which was followed by the next two generations of the Punmiya Clan.
26/11 Anniversary: To Mark the 15th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, a day-long poster exhibition was organised in Geneva on November 24. The demonstration was held at the broken chair in front of the United Nations. The posters depict the gruesome 2008 Mumbai attacks when 10 members of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks lasting four days across Mumbai.
