Ram Navami 2024: Ram Lalla's forehead illuminates with 'Surya Tilak' in Ayodhya

On the occasion Of Ram Navami, Surya Abhishek of Lord Ram was performed for five minutes at 12:16 pm on April 17. Ramnavami, the birth festival of Lord Ram Lala, was celebrated at noon and various types of offerings were made to the Lord. 56 types of Bhog Prasad were given by the devotees today which was offered to the Lord today. The trust also extended the duration of Darshan to 19 hours, starting from the Mangala Aarti and continuing until 11:00 pm. The curtain will be closed only for five minutes during the four Bhog offerings.

Ram Navami 2024: Thousands of devotees throng Ram Mandir to seek blessings

Across the country, Hindus are celebrating the festival of Ram Navami on April 17. A large number of devotees thronged Ram Temple in Ayodhya to take the blessings of Ram Lalla. Ram Lalla is expected to be gifted with ‘Surya Abhishek’ at noon when the rays of the Sun fall on his forehead. Elaborate arrangements were made in the Ram Temple as it is the first Ram Navami after the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony which happened on January 22. Devotees are also visiting the Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya to offer prayers on the occasion. Ram Navami is one of the most celebrated festivals by the Hindu community that commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. The day holds special significance among Hindus which falls on the ninth day of Chaitra month, the first month in the Hindu lunar calendar.

As Ramadan comes to an end, Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations kick in across the country. Muslims across the country gathered at religious places to offer Eid prayers. An air of festivity and celebration was palpable at Delhi’s iconic Jama Masjid on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Devotees filled the Jama Masjid in bright attires on April 11 to offer prayers on Eid. In Mumbai, devotees gathered at Mahim Masjid to offer ‘namaz’ on Eid-ul-Fitr. Devotees in MP’s Bhopal offered Eid prayers at Eidgah with family and friends. Eidgah in Assam’s Guwahati witnessed a large number of devotees on the occasion of revered Eid. Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The festival is of great significance due to the moon sighting which has been part of Islamic culture for a long time. It is believed that Prophet Muhammad used to wait for news of sightings of the crescent moon as it indicated the beginning of a new month.
