Local lad Kedar Jadhav made a sort of history by becoming the first Maharashtra player to play a one-day international at home.  The right-hander was brought in action in the 26th over, with his part time off-spin; and had a decent outing with the ball. He finished with figures of 4-0-23-0; a decent effort, especially considering that three of his four overs came between Over No. 39 and 43. That was before his heroics with the bat.

Just like MSD said
MS Dhoni spoke the other day about the wicketkeeper being involved in field settings; irrespective of whether he is captain or not. And the former skipper had also spoken about how he needs to see where Kohli exactly wants his fieldsmen, instead of deciding himself. That was quite visible, when Dhoni first asked the short fine-leg fielder to move closer to him; then turned back and asked the bowler (Ravindra Jadeja) if that is what he wanted. Kohli standing close to the bowler at that time didn't object and the game moved on.

India's DRS voice
On the eve of the game, Kohli had spoken about Dhoni being highly accurate when it comes to referrals. "He's one voice, if he tells me it's outside the line or it is missing, the decision stands there. It's not left up to doubt or any further debate from there on," Kohli said. And that's exactly how it worked. Dhoni was celebrating, having caught Morgan off Pandya. And the moment he saw umpire Nandan refusing to raise his finger, Dhoni made a referral signal, which Kohli copied looking athe umpire. Replays confirmed that there was a faint edge, and Morgan got his marching orders.

Johri in the house
BCCI CEO Rahul Johri's presence was expected in the wake of Lodha Committee asking him to ensure that matches of the current series are not affected.
