Mumbaiu00a0Indians' Saurabh Tiwary could soon acquire the title of the left-handed Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Like the India captain, he loves his long hair and strikes the ball well enough for Dhoni to be impressed.

The form he has displayed (169 runs from four games) in this edition of the Indian Premier League has made him a key member of Sachin Tendulkar's team.

Going by the knock he played against Delhi Daredevils in the Capital recently, he is not a player the opponents can pass off as a greenhorn.

In a media interaction at the Brabourne Stadium yesterday, Tiwary spoke about the kind of influence Dhoni and Tendulkar has on him.

Excerpts:

On being compared to Mahendra Singh Dhoni:
It feels good to be compared to a player like him. Dhoni is like God.

On his interaction with Dhoni:
I have not played much cricket with Dhoni as he is very senior to me. The only time I played with him was in T20 domestic cricket where we figured for our district. That's the time I got to speak to him and I learnt a lot from our interaction.u00a0 He spoke about how to live your life as a cricketer.

On the IPL game that stands out for him:
The second one I played against Delhi (61 off 37 balls) when I was batting with Sachin. I had to keep my wicket and play normal cricket to make runs.

On his promotion over other batting stars:
My confidence is boosted and it feels good that the captain believes in me even though there are senior players.

On Mumbai Indians' evolution:
Every year, we take in the experience of the previous year and move to the next year.
And we get better and better. We have some good domestic players and I feel we are among the best.

On his great understanding with Ambati Rayudu:
We have been together in the Mumbai Indians camp for the last five to six months and there are times we run without calling.

On his attacking ways this season:
The more matches you play, the more experience you earn. I have not played that many matches in the last two years, but I have seen a lot of games from up close and I spoke to a lot of senior players. Last year, Sachin Sir called me aside and gave me some advice. I have worked a lot on my strokeplay.

When I feel I can see the ball properly, I take a few risks. He has played international cricket for 20 years and when he tells you some thing it feels really good. He stressed that I should read the game quickly as it is a short version of the game.
