Gautam Gambhir missed out on his share of glory yesterday on the second day of the second Test against Bangladesh.

The left-handed opener was unable tou00a0 equal Australian great Don Bradman's world record of scoring a century in six successive Tests.

He was caught behind for 68 while fending off a rising delivery from paceman Shafiul Islam. He might have missed on equaling the record of one of Test cricket's greatest batsmen, but Gambhir shares the podium with another Great from the Caribbean u2014 Vivian Richards.

The former West Indies blaster has a record of 11 consecutive half centuries in the Tests.

He achieved this feat between January in 1976 and February 1977. Gambhir, who was on 26 in his team's overnight total of 69 for no loss, hit nine fours in his solid 83-ball knock for his 11th half-century in 29 Tests.
