Give contracts to Yousuf and Younus: Inzamam

Former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq today slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board for not awarding central contracts to senior players Muhammad Yousuf and Younus Khan.

u00a0Both the players were recently banned for indefinite period by the Board on disciplinary count. Inzamam, the most capped player for Pakistan, said he was disappointed at the way the board treated the senior players.

"It is the board which is showing disrespect to the players. When there is no life ban on Yousuf or Younus then why not give them central contracts?," he fumed "You don't find players of the calibre of Yousuf or Younus everyday or overnight. They are quality players and Pakistan still needs them. The board has not even bothered to reveal the details of the charges against these two while going about banning them," he added.

Inzamam said he saw no sense in the policy of ignoring players banned but awarding contracts to players who were fined and put on probation by the board.

"The board has no sound policy and that is why they have not even been able to announce the captain for the T20 World Cup. By delaying the announcement of the captain the board itself is encouraging groupings in the team. "I don't understand why the delay in naming the captain when the choice is obvious?," he asked.
