Ricky Ponting may have scored his maiden ODI ton at the Gabba to help Australia take an unassailable lead over the West Indies with a 50-run victory in the fourth ODI yesterday.
However, more than his personal milestone, it was the team achievement that pleased Ponting the most.
"To bat first and post that sort of a totalu00a0-- the highest total ever at the Gabbau00a0-- that is really satisfying and is a great reward and great result for the team," Ponting said.
Riding on Ponting's 106 and a cameo by James Hopes (42 off 21 balls), Australia posted 324 for seven. The bowlers then restricted West Indies to 274 for eight to give Australia 3-0 lead with the last match to be played on Friday.
