I'm no England outcast, claims Flintoff

England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff insists he is not an outcast from the national squad and can make a comeback into Andrew Strauss' one-day team after recovering from his knee injury.

Flintoff has not picked up a bat since the knee surgery, following the Ashes triumph over Australia last year.

When told that there were speculations that the England team has moved on from the days when he was a star player, and people are claiming that he would have to 'buy into' the team ethos, Flintoff said: "The good thing about living where I do is that I don''t hear all those rumours."

"All I know is the ethos of the team is to try your best when you take the field, and that''s what I''ll do when I''m back playing," The Sun quoted Flintoff, as saying.

The 32-year-old further stressed that he had been a crucial player in the squad, and he cannot do anything if the team has moved on without him.u00a0

"During the Ashes last year at the pivotal times of the series I was asked to speak in team meetings. And I gave my all on the field. I''ve always got on with Straussy. He''s such a good player and the first captain since Michael Vaughan to make the job his own," The Sun quoted Flintoff, as saying.

"I just have to get myself fit and in a position to be selected. If I thought I''d played my last game for England I wouldn''t train now. That''s the incentive for all the rehab," he added.
