Sri Lanka win thriller by five wickets to enter semis; put India, West Indies out of the tournament

Sensitive batting from Sri Lanka middle order helped them enter the semi-finals of the Twenty20 World Cup.


Needing three runs to win off the last ball,u00a0Kapugedera slammed a boundary to knock Indiau00a0out of the tournament and take Lanka into the semi-finals.



Tilakratne Dilshan (33), skipper Kumar Sangakkara (46) and Angelo Mathews (46) ensured Lanka made it into the last four.

Indian skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. Suresh Raina smashed 63 as India scored 163 for five in their last Group F match of Super Eights in the World Twenty20.

Raina made 63 off 47 balls while Gautam Gambhir contributed 41. Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni made an unbeaten 23.

For Sri Lanka, Thilan Thusara and Lasith Malinga took two wickets each.
