The plight of Don Bosco's 12-year-old Aryan Bangar during a Mumbai Schools Sports Association-Mumbai Indians Giles Shield Elite Division match against Al Barkat MMI (Kurla) at Cross Maidan exposed the lack of medical facilities at the ground.
Aryan, son of former India cricketer Sanjay Bangar, suffered a right shoulder injury while fielding at short-leg, but MSSA didn’t have medical aid on the spot. Later, Aryan’s father had to rush to the venue to take his son to a private hospital for a check-up.

The former India cricketer said: “There was no medical help available at the ground when Aryan got hit. When I got a call, I rushed to the venue. u00a0“I took him to the Dixit Memorial Hospital in Dadar. He is still unable to lift his right hand. Nothing can be said until the test results are out tomorrow,” said Sanjay.
Unaware of the incident, MSSA cricket secretary HS Bhor, however, turned down the idea of having an ambulance at the ground henceforth. “There are 32 matches going on simultaneously.
So it’s not possible to have medical help at all venues. If a player is seriously injured, we take him to a nearby hospital. For smaller injuries, the teams have their own first aid with them,” u00a0Bhor said.u00a0
