Maria Sharapova can be quite cheeky. And the Russian tennis glam doll proved this yesterday when she shot a picture of one of her co-passengers on a flight out of China, without his knowledge of course, and posted it on social media website Twitter.

It so happened that the man, whose identity has not yet become public, was reading a newspaper in-flight which had a story prominently featuring Sharapova. And even as the gentleman was engrossed in his read, World No 4 Sharapova took out her mobile phone and snapped in the act. She then immediately posted the picture on Twitter with an apt caption: “Hey buddy, I’m right behind you.”

Sharapova (27) lost in the third round of the Wuhan Open in China on Thursday and was leaving the country when the incident occurred. The picture has been widely circulated across social media with some fans even questioning its authenticity. “How could anyone miss the beautiful Maria sitting right behind him,” asked one Sharapova follower.

Another questioned the ultra-rich tennis ace’s presence in cattle class. “Since when does Sharapova travel in Economy class,” asked the fan. Another reasoned: “Nowadays many short-haul flights have just one class, so maybe she was in such a flight.”
