Team India decided on match eve to give Harbhajan Singh a place in the XI. Ravindra Jadeja, who can also contribute with the bat, got the nod.u00a0

Going purely by the performances of spinners in the last Test series against England, Ojha deserved to be the first-choice spinner. Ojha was the highest wicket-taker, claiming 20 wickets in four Tests, while Harbhajan and Ashwin took two and 14 wickets respectively. In the second and third Tests, Ojha had consecutive five-wicket hauls.

Former India opener Aakash Chopra was upset. “Ashwin’s good performance doesn’t justify Ojha’s exclusion, guys. Ojha should’ve been the first name on the list... toss up between others,” Chopra tweeted. u00a0
