Rajasthan Royals skipper Shane Warne today attributed their two-run victory over Deccan Chargers to the disciplined performance put up by the bowlers and fielders and said it was the team spirit which eventually helped them to fight it till the end.

Shane Watson scored 58, while Warne registered a four-wicket haul to edge out Deccan Chargers in a crucial encounter in the Indian Premier League today.

u00a0"It was one of those days when a few things went right for us. Our fielding and catching was superb, our intensity and all the bowlers did a great job," Warne said.

"We have responded well as a group. Young (Aditya) Dole took a few wickets, Morne (Morkel) bowled a beautiful spell, (Shane) Watson played a fine innings. A loss today would have really hurt us. "Sid (Siddharth Trivedi) is experienced. He has the slower ones and the bouncers. I just backed him. I am very very happy with the boys; we never gave up. That's the spirit of Rajasthan Royals. This is the time to start peaking. We are going to get a lots of momentum from this win," he added.

His Deccan Charger counterpart Adam Gilchrist, meanwhile, put the blame on the failure of the top-order batsmen for their loss.

"We were very desperate for win, there was a marked improvement in our cricket but obviously very frustrating. The top-order can take a bit of blame for it. I had my chances when I was there; I let it slip," Gilchrist said.

However, the former Australian stumper praised Rohit Sharma for his 44-ball 73 run innings which almost took them to the doors of victory.

"Great innings from Rohit, He kept us alive til the end. He did a great job," he said.

Young pacer Siddharth Trivedi, who picked up three wickets in the crucial last over, said he was nervous but skipper Warne backed him to the hilt.

u00a0"I was tensed of course. Warne showed confidence in me and said just make them play. I was confident as the whole team had backed me up, saying 'you can do it Trivedi'," Trivedi said.

"I just had to bowl it in the right areas. Warne would ask me what are you going to bowl this ball. I would tell him and he says ok or suggests any change if he feels. Always a good communication with the captain," he added.
