Physically challenged cricketers in India may soon get recognition from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Former India skipper Ajit Wadekar, who is president of the All India Cricket Association for the Physically Challenged (AICAPC), met BCCI president Shashank Manohar yesterday to aprise about the situation.

"I briefed him about the meeting I had with the other two factions (Haryana-based PCCAI and Lucknow-based Indian Cricket Federation for Disabled) promoting disabled cricket in India. I told him we have come under one umbrella now. He was happy to hear that. He will now keep the proposal in the next BCCI meeting hopefully," Wadekar told mid-day.

Apparently, Lodha Committee too has strongly recommended for disabled cricket getting BCCI's affiliation.

Tight security outside BCCI office
There was heavy security outside the BCCI office yesterday. Police was deployed on both the gates leading to the Cricket Centre as the cops had learnt of disruption from Aditya Verma, Secretary of the Cricket Association of Bihar and petitioner in the Indian Premier League spot fixing scandal which is currently being heard in the Supreme Court.

"They must have thouhht that I would throw a bomb or fire bullets," said Verma, who has been barred from entering the BCCI's office.
