Sehwag dismissal saddens CCI spectators

The fans at the Cricket Club of India pavilion end were less partisan yesterday and thank heavens for that. Sure, they cheered like crazy for Sachin and his Mumbai Indians but they also reserved some applause for good performances in the Delhi camp.

David Warner was adored for his big-hitting and Sehwag received kudos for a 18-ball 20. If Tendulkar is CCI's favourite son, Sehwag is the much-loved adopted son after his grand innings of 293 against Sri Lanka last December. So, when Sehwag was run out, there was a fair bit of remorse in the stands. Inhabitants of the Wet Wicketu00a0 bar too were disappointed and one of them said, "why run so fast on a slow wicket?"

Karsan Ghavri, the former India all-rounder (kaddubhai could bowl quick and take on the role of a left-arm spinner too apart from his gritty batting) played spectator after a decade yesterday. He has been involved in the game as a coach after hanging his boots but this was the first time he could watch a match with a free mind. Normally, a former cricketer is restrained in cheering but Kaddubhai went all the way and made himself heard. "I love this form of the game... so very exciting," he said. Karsan Devjibhai Ghavri, we love your attitude!
