St Francis D'Assisi split points with Jamnabai Narsee

All that the school footballersu00a0 dream during their summer vacation is to step on to the football field and showcase their skills. Their anxious wait finally came to an end as the Mumbai School Sports Association's inter-school football tournament kicked off yesterday.

With as many as hundred teams participating in the under-16 age group, the tournament is set to witness some stiff competition. And going by the quality dished out on Day One, it seems the teams are geared up like never before to battle for pride and prestige.

St Francis D'Assisi and Jamnabai Narsee (Juhu) played their hearts out in the day's second Division I match.

Having finished at the bottom of the league last year, D'Assisi is confident of changing things around this time.

After Angad Aujla netted in the opener for Jamnabai , Sunny Thakur scored a brace to give D'Assisi an edge but a defensive error in the dying moments proved costly saw Karan Dwivedi level the tie 2-2.
