Sri Lanka's Arjuna Ranatunga and West Indies' Wesley Hall have been Board chiefs in the past. Ranatunga believes Sunil Gavaskar can become a good administrator.
Speaking from Colombo yesterday, Ranatunga said: "Cricketers who have played with pride, passion and dignity would never allow this great game to be destroyed and the country's image to be disgraced.
"I expect Sunil Gavaskar to make use of this opportunity, if all works out well, and resurrect the BCCI to its old glory."
