Of all the teams in the Champions League, the Sussex Sharks have possibly the most cosmopolitan outlook. It is a team of many parts, with many famous lineages and of different nationalities. The Sharks, reigning Twenty20 champs from England, play Diamond Eagles today.

Where else would you find a Pakistani teaming up with an Indian and a Barbadian for a common cause. To add to this mix is the nephew of a former England captain and son of a famous broadcaster.

Pakistan discard Yasir Arafat has been a hit on the Twenty20 circuit for Sussex.

As the only Pakistani in the tournament, Arafat has more than one reason to be in the spotlight.

"It is a honour to be part of the squad for this tournament. There is no pressure because I am the only Pakistani here," says Arafat.

Discarded India spinner Piyush Chawla has been of help in terms of inputs which skipper Michael Yardy is ever grateful.

West Indies' Dwayne Smith is a key player too. "Dwayne has really lifted our limited-overs side. His bowling plus his batting makes a huge difference to us," informed coach Mark Robinson.

All-rounder Robin Martin-Jenkins carries a famous surname. Son of noted broadcaster-writer Christopher Martin Jenkins or CMJ, Robin is finding his India experience interesting.

Then there is Joe Gatting whose uncle Mike enjoyed a successful tour of India in 1984-85. "My uncle has spoken much about touring here, but I am sure he would keep a watch on me."
