India all-rounder Deepti Sharma made a significant leap in the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings, climbing 10 places to reach 23rd among batters, following her impressive performances in the ongoing series against England. The latest rankings, released on Tuesday, saw several Indian and English players reap rewards for their impactful outings in the first two ODIs.

Deepti, who was named Player of the Match in the series opener for her unbeaten 62, played a key role in guiding India to a successful chase of 259. She followed that up with another composed, unbeaten knock of 30 in the second game. Her consistent performances have propelled her into the top 25 batters for the first time in over a year.

England's Sophia Dunkley jumped 24 places to 52nd after a fluent 83 off 92 balls in the first ODI. Her knock laid the foundation for a competitive total and was among the standout performances for the hosts. Teammate Alice Davidson-Richards climbed 40 spots to 118th, thanks to a well-compiled half-century in the same match.

India’s Smriti Mandhana held firm at the top of the ODI batting rankings, maintaining her No.1 spot with a rating of 727. Although she hasn’t scored big in the series yet, with innings of 28 and 42, her consistency over time continues to keep her ahead of the chasing pack.

Not all news was positive for India, though. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur slipped five places to 21st following modest scores of 17 and 7 in the first two encounters.

In the bowling department, England’s Sophie Ecclestone further solidified her position as the world’s top-ranked bowler. The left-arm spinner has taken four wickets in the series so far, including a match-winning spell of 3 for 27 in the second ODI. Her rating has climbed from 747 to 776, extending her lead over Australia's Ashleigh Gardner (724) and Megan Schutt (696). Deepti continues to hold the fourth spot in the bowling charts.

Spin has dominated the series, with finger spinners particularly effective. England’s Charlie Dean and India’s Sneh Rana have taken three wickets each. Dean's efforts helped her break into the top 10 for the first time, moving up two spots to ninth with a personal best rating of 625. Rana, too, achieved a career-high, jumping 12 places to 21st with a rating of 515.

Dean also climbed in the all-rounder rankings, reaching joint 14th alongside Australia’s Ellyse Perry. Ecclestone moved up three spots to 18th after contributing a brisk 23* off 19 balls in the first ODI along with her continued bowling success.
