On Day 3 of the second Test match against South Africa, Team India were bowled out for 201 runs in 83.5 overs at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati. With this, the Proteas have a massive lead of 288 runs.
South Africa's star pacer Marco Jansen showcased exceptional bowling skills. Bowling 19.5 overs, he claimed six wickets, conceding 48 runs. He also made crucial contributions with the willow in South Africa's first innings.
Post lunch, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav departed after putting on a gritty show with the willow. Facing 92 balls, Sundar returned to the pavilion on 48 runs, including two boundaries and a maximum. On the other hand, Yadav accumulated 19 runs after facing 134 runs, with the help of three boundaries.
Lead pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah scored five runs off 17 balls, with the help of a boundary while Mohammed Siraj stayed unbeaten on two runs after facing six balls.
Along with Jansen, Simon Harmer bagged three wickets by conceding 64 runs in 27 overs. Star spinner Keshav Maharaj also chipped in with one wicket by leaking 39 runs in 15 overs.
Wiaan Mulder, Aiden Markram, and Senuran Muthusamy went wicketless in Team India's first innings. Mulder and Markram bowled 10 overs each and conceded 14 and 26 runs, respectively. Muthusamy gave away just two runs in two overs.
Earlier in the day, Team India's star opening batsman, Yashasvi Jaiswal, departed after scoring 58 runs off 97 deliveries, which were laced with seven boundaries and a maximum. Fellow opening batsman, KL Rahul, scored 22 runs in 63 balls, with the help of two boundaries.
Sai Sudharsan accumulated 15 runs off 40 balls, including two boundaries. Dhruv Jurel endured a poor outing as he returned to the pavilion on a duck after facing 11 balls.
Stand-in skipper Rishabh Pant departed on seven runs in eight balls. His knock included just a maximum. Ravindra Jadeja, too, followed the footsteps of Pant.
Jadeja departed on six runs in 18 balls.
Facing 18 balls, Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 10 runs, with the help of a boundary.
Currently, the Temba Bavuma-led side is leading the series 1-0.
