Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman in Test history to reach 14,000 runs yesterday on Day Two of the second Test against Australia at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman in Test history to reach 14,000 runs yesterday on Day Two of the second Test against Australia at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

Here's a list of other firsts in Test cricket:

10,000 Test runs
This was achieved by Sunil Gavaskar against Pakistan at Ahmedabad in March, 1987.


400 in a Test innings
Brian Lara became the firstu00a0 and till now, the only player to break the 400-run barrier in Tests. He did so against England at Antigua in April 2004.



Ten wickets in a Test innings:
The first player to accomplish this coveted feat was England's Jim Laker, who returned with figures of ten for 53 during the Ashes series at Manchester in 1956.

800 Test wickets:
Muttiah Muralitharan achieved this feat during the Galle Test against India in July 2010.
