In the ODI Women's World Cup 2025 match against England, Bangladesh was bowled out for 178 runs in 49.4 overs at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati.

Having put to bat first, Bangladesh's opening batswoman, Rubya Haider, departed early on the score of four runs in nine balls. Fellow opening batswoman, Sharmin Akhter, scored 30 runs off 52 balls, including six boundaries.

Skipper Nigar Sultana returned to the pavilion on a two-ball duck. Later, Sobhana Mostary played a knock of 60 runs in 108 deliveries. Her knock was laced with eight boundaries with a strike rate of 55.56.

Shorna Akter also scored 10 runs after facing 23 balls, and smashed a boundary during her knock. Facing 36 balls, Ritu Moni was dismissed for just five runs, whereas Fahima Khatun returned to the pavilion after scoring seven runs in 25 balls.

Nahida Akter and Sanjida Akter Meghla scored one run each after facing eight and seven balls, respectively. Marufa Akter departed on the first ball.

Rabeya Khatun gave the finishing touches as she played an unbeaten knock of 43 runs off 27 deliveries, with the help of six boundaries and a maximum.

Sophie Ecclestone was the most successful bowler for England. Completing her quota of 10 overs, she bagged three wickets by conceding 24 runs. Linsey Smith, Charlie Dean, and Alice Capsey bagged two wickets each. Dean bowled 10 overs and was smashed for 28 runs, whereas Capsey conceded 31 runs in her spell of eight overs.

Smith leaked 33 runs by bowling 9.4 overs. Lauren Bell also completed seven overs and managed to register a wicket for 28 runs.

Skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt went wicketless in the ODI Women's World Cup 2025 match against Bangladesh. She bowled five overs and gave away 32 runs.

England will heavily rely on the contributions from Heather Knight and skipper Sciver-Brunt. Additionally, the England skipper is shy of 10 runs of achieving the feat of the third-highest run-scorer for the side in women's ODIs.

Currently, England is placed third on the points table with two points, and Bangladesh is in fourth place with the same number of points.
