In the semi-final of the ODI Women's World Cup 2025 against Australia, Team India came victorious by five wickets at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.

Team India's star batswoman, Jemimah Rodrigues, was the architect of her side's run chase. Facing 134 balls, she scored an unbeaten 127 runs, which was laced with 14 boundaries.

Along with her, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur's knock was crucial for India's victory. She scored 89 runs in 88 balls, with the help of 10 boundaries and two maximums. Riding on their knocks, India defeated Australia to seal the final berth.

Speaking on the performance, Team India stalwart Virat Kohli shared a post on his official social media handle, which read, "What a victory by our team over a mighty opponent like Australia. A great chase by the girls and a standout performance by Jemimah in a big game. A true display of resilience, belief, and passion. Well done, Team India!".

The "Women in Blue" successfully chased the target by scoring 341 runs for the loss of five wickets in 48.3 overs. This also marked the highest successful run chase in the history of women's one-day internationals (WODIS).

Earlier, Australia's Phoebe Litchfield played a glorious knock of 119 runs off just 93 deliveries. Her knock was laced with 17 boundaries and three maximums.

With this, she became the youngest player to hit a century in a Women's World Cup knockout match and the second-youngest centurion for Australia in the tournament's history.

Nallapureddy Charani was the most successful bowler for the hosts. Completing her quota of 10 overs, she bagged two wickets by conceding 49 runs. Along with her, Deepti Sharma claimed two wickets and was smashed for 73 runs in 9.5 overs.

India will now lock horns with South Africa in the title clash on November 2 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
